The Paperback Writer Bureau partners with experienced ghostwriters, editors, and screenwriters who share our belief that great stories deserve exceptional craftsmanship,  and complete discretion.

We represent a small, carefully chosen network of professional writers whose work we put forward to clients across publishing, film, and digital storytelling.
Our writers are independent, but part of a trusted creative circle, aligned in standards, ethics, and storytelling excellence.

Who we’re looking for

We welcome expressions of interest from writers who are:

• Experienced in fiction or narrative non-fiction writing.

• Comfortable working under confidentiality and ghostwriting agreements.

• Skilled at adapting voice and tone to suit the client.

• Reliable, deadline-driven, and collaborative in feedback cycles.

• Based anywhere, but able to communicate clearly and professionally online.

Experience in publishing, film, or journalism is highly valued. A track record of completed long-form projects (published or private) is essential.

How it works

When a new project comes in, we match clients with writers whose background, tone, and availability best fit the assignment.
Writers work directly with clients under the Bureau’s banner, supported by our editorial and administrative framework.
We handle client onboarding, agreements, and payments, so our writers can focus on the creative work.

We believe in fair rates, transparent communication, and credit where it’s due (even when it’s confidential).
