About Us
NICK POLLACK - Founder
Writer. Ghost. Storyteller.
With more than 20 years in television and film production, Nick Pollack has spent his career
shaping stories - on screen, on the page, and behind the scenes.
He’s written or ghostwritten dozens of novels and screenplays across genres, from thrillers and
dramas to family films and romantic comedies. His credits include work with Lionsgate, as well as collaborations with first-time authors, producers, and creative teams seeking to bring their ideas to life.
Over two decades, Nick has developed a reputation for making complex ideas accessible and turning unfinished drafts into publishable, emotionally resonant work. His background in editing and directing gives him a cinematic edge - he sees story not just in words, but in rhythm, framing, and pacing.
Now, through The Paperback Writer Bureau, Nick focuses on ghostwriting full-length novels, memoirs, and screenplays for clients who have stories worth telling but need a professional partner to shape them into their best form.

At The Paperback Writer Bureau, our mission is to give untold stories a voice and unfinished manuscripts a heartbeat.
We exist to help authors, screenwriters, and thought leaders transform ideas into beautifully crafted books - stories that feel alive on the page and authentic in tone.
Whether we’re ghostwriting a novel, adapting a screenplay, or refining a memoir, our goal is to honour each client’s vision while shaping prose that endures.
Blending cinematic storytelling with editorial precision, we work quietly behind the scenes to bring clarity, structure, and emotional depth to every project. We believe great writing doesn’t shout - it resonates.
Our bureau stands for craftsmanship, collaboration, and discretion. Every story we shape is a partnership built on trust, respect, and a shared commitment to excellence.
The Paperback Writer Bureau: where ideas are refined, voices are honoured, and stories find their final form.
Our Mission
Why Work With a Ghostwriter?

The truth is simple:
Most books, memoirs, and screenplays you love weren’t written alone.
Behind the public author, entrepreneur, or creative figure, there’s often a professional ghostwriter quietly shaping the story - structuring ideas, refining tone, and bringing years of craft to the page.
Working with a ghostwriter isn’t about deception. It’s about collaboration.
It’s about transforming ideas, experiences, or fragments of inspiration into something cohesive, emotional, and publishable.
Why people hire ghostwriters
People come to The Paperback Writer Bureau for many reasons - but they all share one thing: a story worth telling.
-
Time. Writing a book or screenplay takes hundreds of hours. You might have the story - but not the schedule.
-
Expertise. Writing well isn’t just about ideas; it’s about rhythm, structure, and pacing - especially for publication or production.
-
Voice. Many clients know what they want to say, but not how they want to say it. A skilled ghostwriter helps you find the voice that fits you perfectly.
-
Objectivity. An outside writer can see the narrative shape you might miss - connecting threads and themes you didn’t know were there.
-
Momentum. A ghostwriter keeps the project moving, ensuring your idea doesn’t become another unfinished file on your desktop.
There’s no ego in hiring a ghostwriter - just the wisdom to recognise that professional storytelling is a craft.
